Founded in 2004, NetBrain is the leader in no-code network automation. Its ground-breaking Next-Gen platform provides IT operations teams with the ability to scale their hybrid multi-cloud connected networks by automating the processes associated with Diagnostic Troubleshooting, Outage Prevention and Protected Change Management. Today, over 2,500 of the world’s largest enterprises and managed services providers leverage NetBrain’s platform.
What We Need
NetBrain is looking for a Network Development Engineer with a focus on Platform Development to join our growing Platform team. In this role, you will apply deep Python expertise and networking knowledge to design and build scalable integration solutions that power Net Brain’s automation platform. You will work directly with enterprise customers to understand real-world networking challenges and translate them into robust, production-grade platform capabilities
This role combines strong software engineering expertise with deep networking knowledge and direct customer collaboration. Unlike a traditional backend-only development role, engineers in this position work closely with enterprise customers to understand real-world networking challenges and design scalable platform and integration solutions.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Python services and APIs that power Net Brain’s automation platform.
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to understand networking requirements and translate them into platform features.
- Own API design, feature decomposition, and technical design reviews for new platform capabilities.
- Apply strong software engineering practices: code reviews, design patterns, edge case handling, failure modeling, and production-readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on integration design and delivery.
- May need to work on customers' platform cases when needed.
What You Bring
- 2–4 years of hands-on Python development with emphasis on code quality, design patterns, and API design.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP, RSTP), QoS, firewall concepts, SD-WAN, and cloud networking.
- Proven experience with API integration design and building production-grade services.
- Ability to handle edge cases, failure scenarios, and production concerns with rigor.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable engaging directly with enterprise customers.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Nice to have: Networking or Cloud certifications (CCNA, CCNP, AWS, Azure); experience with cloud-native architectures or AI tooling.

What We Do
Founded in 2004, NetBrain Automation is the most widely adopted no-code network automation and visibility platform, providing network operators and engineers with the ability to transform their core workflows associated with hybrid network management. Through the use of desired Intents, any multi-vendor and multi-cloud infrastructure can now be managed from the top-down based upon establishing and maintaining those intents (rather than managing by device configuration alone). By discovering every aspect of any hybrid network, all the way from the edge to the cloud, and transforming this into a robust digital twin which understands the intention of each component, engineers and operators can maintain the integrity of the network by simply managing their intended results. Today, more than 2,500 of the world’s largest enterprises and managed services providers use NetBrain to simplify their management tasks, reduce MTTRs, ensure compliance and provide a top-down understanding of how the network is supporting their business requirements directly. NetBrain is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, with employees located across the United States and Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, and China
