Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to multiple network engineering initiatives, including solution design, development, testing, and integration for complex platforms
- Lead team members to success on projects and tasks
- Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and risks
- Utilize AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot Chat to develop and test automation scripts, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and other engineering tools
- Leverage AI capabilities to enhance productivity, including generating presentations, proposals, and performing anomaly detection and root cause analysis using platforms like Splunk, Dynatrace, and cloud-native monitoring tools
- Build custom AI tools using LLM APIs to accelerate solution delivery where applicable
- Develop LAN/WAN strategies, evaluate hardware/software products, and implement integrated solutions aligned with business requirements
- Perform after-hours systems support, installation, and maintenance as needed
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and coordinate with vendors to resolve complex infrastructure issues
- Advise team members on best practices to ensure optimal performance and availability
- Conduct implementations, upgrades, and conversions in accordance with standard operating procedures and change management protocols
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, project managers, and stakeholders
- Author and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams
- Collaborate with vendors on product and service implementations
- Ensure compliance with UHG IT policies, HIPAA standards, and industry best practices
- Perform risk analysis and develop remediation plans for identified IT security issues
- Maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration across technical and non-technical teams
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of extensive Network Engineering experience
- Experience or knowledge in the following:
- LAN/WAN Wireless Enterprise Networks
- TCP/IP Fundamentals
- Routing and Switching Protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP, VTP,
- Cisco and Aruba LAN Switching
- QoS, HSRP, IP SLA, DHCP, DNS, Netflow, TACACS, Cisco ISE, Dot1x, IPSEC
- Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki Wireless Technologies
- ServiceNOW, HP Openview, NNMi, Splunk, Rally
- Skilled in a scripting language such as Python
- Proven documentation skills and use of programs such as Visio
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
- Proven solid interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to cross between technical and nontechnical
audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNP Certification, SDWAN Certification or equivalent experience is a plus
- Palo Alto, CISCO ASA
- SDWAN (Cisco Viptela and Meraki), MPLS, Metro-E, Site to Site VPN
- WAN Optimization & Network Automation skill like Python, Ansible, Pear, AI tools exp like Github, Copilot etc
