Our Edge Platform team takes ownership for planning, building, maintaining and operating our global platform. We design, develop and deploy critical technologiesthat provide the underpinnings for all of Akamai's products. Our team ensures consistent availability and performance for our customers.

This position will support Edge Technology, Network Infrastructure, and Planning by designing business and technical solutions for Akamai's cloud computing platforms and for service provider partners who want to implement CDN solutions. Integrating Akamai's CDN technology into third party networks requires a creative and technical person who understands the business needs and the financial aspects of both

As a Network Architect Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting Business Development and Network Strategy on service provider partnerships.
• Managing Akamai's Peering and Interconnection Strategy
• Optimizing Performance and Cost working with Partners and Vendors
• Training internal teams, creating technical documentation and being a technical escalation point for other departments
• Troubleshooting and enhancing the Akamai Mapping System.
• Performing Network Security Awareness

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or its equivalent
• Possess a minimum of 8 years of experience with internet routing and peering
• Have experience with Content Distribution Networks and global DNS system
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of general Internet network operations on a global scale and network diagnostics tool
• Have router configuration experience in a multi-national backbone and in-depth knowledge of common routing protocols.
• Be capable of representing Akamai and participating in Internet networking and other conferences as needed
• Have solid written and verbal communication skills, desire to learn, have fun and be part of a highly functional and competent team

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $126,700 - $263,300/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
