Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• MIB translations - take alerts and translate the OID message into recognizable wording
• Create alert rules for devices and set priority and define escalation chain. This will define who and how the team is alerted.
• Import the vendor MIBS - translate the device logs - create the logs in Logic Monitor application.
• Provide support, testing, and troubleshooting to technical alerts by triggering alarms in the field. Ex. Triggering open door alert and verifying corresponding message in the ticketing system.
• Alert matching – verify that alerts in the existing monitoring system OpenText “Network Node Manager – NNMi” are also visible in Logic Monitor.
• Create sites and add devices into the created sites. Ex. Create site associated to substation name and add devices such as router, switch, power bank, radios, DPS, dehydrator, etc.
• Effectively communicate project related problem status to leadership, team members, and Logic Monitor support groups.
• Open trouble tickets and work with Logic Monitor team for technical assistance beyond expertise of the Network Control team.
Skills Required
- Experience configuring and administering LogicMonitor
- Ability to translate MIBs and SNMP OID messages into human-readable alerts
- Experience importing vendor MIBs and creating device logs
- Knowledge of OpenText Network Node Manager (NNMi) and alert matching
- Ability to create alert rules, set priorities, and define escalation chains
- Experience creating sites and adding network devices (routers, switches, radios, etc.)
- Troubleshooting and testing alerts in the field and verifying ticketing integration
- Strong communication skills to report status to leadership and coordinate with support teams
