Position Summary
The Network Administrator 2 team member is responsible for the installation, documentation, troubleshooting, security and lifecycle management of network infrastructure including firewalls, routers and switches. The team member will also implement, maintain and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks of different designations: LANs, WANs, CANs and remote site to site connectivity. They provide advanced support to the Enterprise for network related issues, contribute to departmental and enterprise projects and participate in a rotating, after hours on-call schedule.
Responsibilities
Primary Position Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
- Troubleshoot Network issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement timely resolutions to minimize downtime and optimize network performance.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection system, and VPNs, to safeguard the organization’s data and resources.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
- Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.
Secondary Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to design and implement network solutions that align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Monitor network traffic and performance, analyze data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement, and implement proactive measures to enhance network reliability and scalability.
- Attends CoServ University training as required.
- Performs other duties and activities as directed.
Position Requirements
Education, Experience, and Certifications Required
- High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration, with a demonstrated track record of managing enterprise-level network environments
Education, Experience, and Certifications Preferred
- CCNA, CCNP or equivalent work experience
- Extreme Networks, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, F5 Load balancers
- Current experience with DNS, Radius, IPAM, Netflow/Sflow, SNMP
- Current experience with designing, monitoring and managing wireless networks and related components.
- Current experience with Network QOS administration.
- Experience with VOIP

Other Requirements
- Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver's license (if applicable).
- Must have a reliable home high-speed Internet service for situations where remote work is necessary.
