What is the opportunity?
As a Sr. Network Access Engineer you will be responsible for supporting, managing and designing various ClearPass policies for different platforms (Wireless, NAC, TACACs and IoT) for RBC’s Telecom and Network Services in a distributed environment and providing audit evidence and reports for various regulations and jurisdictions.
In this role you will be the Level 2 escalation point of contact for various technology partners and for Level 1 network operations staff and participating in global projects and integrations.
What will you do?
- Provide ClearPass policy design and resolve various network related issues.
- Provide Level 2 for access control for different ClearPass applications: NAC for wire and wireless, TACACS and IoT.
- Ensure that all WAN links are fully and effectively utilized and optimized.
- Utilize all available resources to perform trouble shooting e.g. documentation and contacts.
- Identify any major operational/networking problems to the Telecom Development team with possible recommendations for solution.
- Report issues to Telecom management and representatives of affected businesses.
- Set follow up times for all Incidents, so that recovery can be achieved within severity guidelines
- Follow up with service partners when status not provided within guidelines and escalate when necessary
- Be the prime interface between Telecom Development teams and NOC for change management.
- Interface with business and service partners to coordinate change activities.
- Contribute to, and vet Method of Procedure documents for change projects.
- Initiate change control tickets and produce detailed execution documents.
- Follow-up on success of change activities.
- Work to 100% change success with 0 unplanned downtime resulting from planned changes.
- Ensure documentation is current as it relates to changes made, ie. PRP docs and diagrams.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Expertise in ClearPass and Cisco Switching.
- Expertise in FireWall rules (Checkpoint and PAN).
- Understanding of WLAN and Network Segmentation.
Nice-to-have
- ClearPass Prof Certificate
- WLAN (Meraki or Cisco)
- ITIL3
