The Role
Boxes 4 U is an employee-owned packaging and industrial supplies distributor based in Plano, Texas, serving the Dallas–Fort Worth community since 1991. With a deep inventory spanning moving,shipping, cold-chain, industrial, and contractor supplies—including custom boxes, foam inserts, bubble protection, tapes, poly bags, and crash film—they offer exceptional flexibility, competitive pricing, and free local delivery or in-store pickup.
We’re seeking an onsite Staff Accountant who will serve as both the Netsuite accounting system owner and a key member of the finance team. This role will combine day-to-day accounting responsibilities with NetSuite administration, process improvement, and data integrity oversight.
Managing configurations, troubleshooting issues, training team members, and partnering with leadership to ensure our accounting systems fully support business growth.
What You'll Do:
- Own NetSuite as the internal administrator and accounting system expert.
- Maintain the general ledger, perform monthly and quarterly closes, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and journal entries within NetSuite.
- Design and implement process improvements and automation across accounting and operations.
- Create, manage, and distribute custom reports and dashboards for leadership and department heads.
- Troubleshoot NetSuite issues and liaise with external partners or consultants when needed.
- Support inventory and costing accuracy within the system, collaborating closely with operations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Provide training and documentation for other NetSuite users company-wide.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy business.
- Hands-on NetSuite experience (implementation, administration, customization, or power-user level) required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and month-end close processes.
- Experience with reporting tools, saved searches, and dashboards in NetSuite.
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to communicate clearly across departments and translate accounting needs into system solutions.
- Ability to work onsite at our Plano location
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience leading or assisting with system implementations or integrations.
- Exposure to operational workflows such as purchasing, order management, or fulfillment.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience working within QuickBooks Desktop.
