Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Senior Netezza or IIAS DBA (7+ years) to provide 24x7 enterprise database administration and operational support for large-scale data warehouse and analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting, high availability, and database operations within Netezza or IBM Integrated Analytics System (IIAS) environments.
Provide 24x7 production support with rotational shifts and on-call responsibilities.
Administer, monitor, and maintain Netezza/IIAS databases across production and non-production environments.
Manage backup, recovery, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
Perform health checks, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize database configurations and queries.
Automate operational tasks using scripting tools (Python, Shell, etc.).
Collaborate with BI, ETL, analytics, infrastructure, and security teams for integrations and platform enhancements.
Manage database security, access controls, and compliance requirements.
Execute database patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime.
Support deployment activities and resolve database-related incidents with root cause analysis.
Maintain accurate documentation, procedures, and operational best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
7+ years DBA experience with Netezza or IIAS environments.
Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture, scaling, partitioning, performance optimization, and throughput management.
Expertise in scripting (Python, Shell) and automation tools.
Experience with HA/DR, backup/recovery, replication, and failover strategies.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Nagios.
Experience supporting cloud deployments, migrations, or upgrades (Azure/GCP preferred).
Strong knowledge of database security, compliance, and audit requirements.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
IBM Certified Netezza DBA or related analytics platform certification.
Experience with hybrid/cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Exposure to ETL/BI tools and performance tuning for data warehouses.
Experience with automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Shell scripting).
