Job Responsibilities and Requirements

We are a leading group life insurance company seeking an experienced .NET Solution Architect to join our innovative technology team. As a .NET Solution Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing robust and scalable solutions that meet the needs of our business and customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking financial services organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design: Develop high-level architectural solutions based on business requirements, ensuring that the design is scalable, maintainable, and meets industry standards.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment.

  • Architectural Governance: Contribute to maintaining technology standards and best-practices, while ensuring solutions meet those standards and align with the enterprise technology roadmap.

  • Influence: Be a trusted advisor to colleagues, Enterprise Architects, Management and Leadership on topics technical and varied.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and IT teams, to ensure alignment and successful delivery of projects.

  • Delivery Quality: Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, including diagrams, design specifications, and technical guidelines.

  • Innovation: Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends; propose innovative solutions to enhance our technology stack.

  • Transparency: Identify and escalate risks and issues to appropriate team members and management. Provide regular status reports to management and stakeholders.

  • Excellence: Assume additional duties as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and/or Related Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role. An ideal candidate will have deep experience building, maintaining, and integrating RESTful APIs.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in .NET development frameworks and technologies, including .NET Core, ASP.NET, and C#.

  • Architectural Skills: Strong understanding of architectural patterns, microservices, and cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud). Extensive knowledge of web services, systems integration, and SOA.

  • Database Proficiency: Experience with relational databases, including database design and optimization, streaming patterns, data lake and warehouse architectures, etc.

  • Middleware Knowledge: Familiarity with messaging middleware such as ESBs, Kafka or RabbitMQ.

  • Front-End Frameworks: Exposure to front-end frameworks like React or Angular.

  • AI and Machine Learning: Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts and their application in software solutions.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Adaptability: Flexible in the face of changing priorities, with the ability to multi-task, and handle urgent interruptions with high level of professionalism and a positive attitude.

  • Proven Leadership: Excellent analytical, process design and problem-solving skills, combined with strong business judgment and project leadership experience.

Other Qualifications of Interest:

  • Industry Experience: Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry.

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, or similar.

  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, JIRA).

  • DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.


 

The expected hiring range for this position is $123,130.00 - $164,370.00 annually for work performed in the primary location (Philadelphia, PA). This expected hiring range covers only base pay and excludes any other compensation components such as commissions or incentive awards. The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be based on several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
