.Net Applications Architect

BIICS, Inc is looking to fill a .NET Applications Architect position. The position is located in Tallahassee, FL and work is onsite.

.NET Applications Architect

• Design and document end to end application architectures using the Microsoft .NET ecosystem.
  
• Define solution patterns, including monolithic, modular monolith, microservices, and event driven approaches.
  
• Establish architectural standards, reference architectures, and design guidelines.
  
• Evaluate and recommend technology stacks and frameworks.
  
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
  
• Review code, pull requests, and design artifacts for architectural compliance.
  
• Ensure adherence to SOLID principles, clean architecture, and best practices.
  
• Support CI/CD pipeline integration and deployment strategies.
  
• Assess existing systems and recommend modernization approaches.
  
• Guide migrations from legacy JCL, COBOL, and FOCUS technologies to .NET.
  
• Identify and prioritize technical debt remediation.
  
• Support refactoring strategies without disrupting business operations.
  
• Produce and maintain architectural diagrams and technical documentation.
  
• Document design decisions and tradeoffs using architecture decision records.
  
• Support onboarding and mentoring of internal technical staff.
  
• Participate in architecture reviews and governance forums.
  
• Analyze and document existing computing assets, including technical specifications and established business rules.
  
• Assist with debugging and troubleshooting existing processes, including root cause analysis and issue resolution.
  
• Provide guidance and assistance with remediating and upgrading legacy assets, coordinating with business analysts, developers, and product owners, and participating in code and design reviews.
  
• Perform knowledge transfer with technical staff.
  
• Produce solution architecture diagrams and documentation.
  
• Provide technology and design recommendations.
  
• Produce architecture decision records.
  

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Professional work experience may substitute on a year for year basis for a degree.
  
• Minimum of 7 years of experience across multiple IT areas and 2 to 3 years of relevant architecture experience.
  
• Advanced to expert knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design and integration, specifically .NET.
  
• Must be able to apply common knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
  

o   Clean Architecture and Domain Driven Design.

o   Event driven architectures.

o   API design and integration patterns.

o   Web application development and front end frameworks.

o   Azure DevOps tools such as Application Insights, Key Vault, and Blob Storage.

o   SQL Server and relational database design.

o   Data access optimization and performance tuning.

o   Performance tuning and scalability.

o   Reliability and fault tolerance.

o   Logging, monitoring, and observability.

o   Entity Relationship Diagrams.

o   Documenting and communicating technical requirements.

o   Coordinating with Business Analysts to capture business requirements.

•  Knowledge of the SCRUM Framework.
  
• Knowledge of financial systems such as an ERP.-
  
• Ability to bridge the gap between technical and business language.
  

Preferred:

• C# or ASP.NET Core.
  
• Web APIs and RESTful services.
  
• Entity Framework or other ORM frameworks.
  
• .NET Framework and modern .NET, including .NET 6 or later.
  
• Microsoft Azure.
  
• CI/CD pipelines, including Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  
• Front end JavaScript libraries or frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
