Role Summary and Impact
This team is responsible for negotiating of ad space, time and placement of all audio (network, terrestrial, digital and podcasts) buys. The team is made up of negotiators and associates who work across numerous accounts in the national audio space.. We work collaboratively with other investment groups and planning teams to successfully deliver on our clients’ goals and objectives. Working under moderate direction and supervision, the Negotiator, Audio Focus is an audio specialist who works collaboratively with planning groups and clients and is responsible for the negotiation, execution, and stewardship of all audio for assigned clients. The person in this role will work on assigned clients and supervise moderate complex client accounts where they will oversee and supervise assistant buyers.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Demonstrates in-depth market knowledge and secures the lowest possible costs based on market conditions
- Experience with high volume
- Executes schedules to meet all client goals and objectives
- Proficient with ACT1
- Proficient with all MediaOcean applications
- Accurately prepares necessary paperwork: cost requests, competitive reports, added value, posts, POVs, projects
- Provides clients and planning teams with market conditions/changes. Offer solutions to market problems as early as possible in negotiation process
- Oversees ordering and confirmation process of schedules
- Trains and manages workloads of assistants and reviews documents and reports prepared by assistants
- Effectively tracks and stewards schedule performance and campaign deliverables
- Oversees billing discrepancy process, works with assistants on resolution and enforces deadlines
- Builds and maintains positive vendor relationships
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-4+ years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications; OR equivalent professional work experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines under pressure
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deliver accurate deliverables
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Solid experience working with all forms of audio and audiences ( terrestrial, streaming, podcasting)
- Expertise with internal systems (MediaOcean, Prisma, etc.)
- Solid track record of successful plan stewardship
- Strong presentation skills
- Client involvement and interaction
- Experience in bespoke/custom program activation a plus
