Description of Work

The MFP Budget and Contracts Manager serves as a key member of the Money Follows the Person (MFP) leadership team and is responsible for overseeing the program’s financial, budget, and contract operations. This role manages all aspects of federal and state MFP budgets, prepares financial reports, monitors expenditures, coordinates audits, and leads the development and oversight of program contracts. The ideal candidate will be skilled at providing excellent customer service to internal staff, contractors, and partner agencies; adaptable and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment; and a collaborative team player who brings a positive, approachable, and professional presence to the workplace. This position offers an opportunity to support a mission‑driven program that helps individuals transition into community‑based living through strong financial stewardship and effective partnership management.

**Position is eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours**

  • Demonstrated experience independently managing complex federal or multi‑fund budgets, including multi‑year financial planning, quarterly reporting, reconciliations, and year‑end closeout for large‑scale programs or grants.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products, government financial and contract management systems—such as Excel, PowerBI, NCFS, Open Window, and Grant Solutions—with the ability to train others, provide technical assistance, and support system‑based process improvements.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement program‑specific fiscal and contract policies and procedures, including designing RFPs, establishing contract deliverable requirements, and creating compliance monitoring processes that support both internal and external partners.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal staff, external stakeholders, contractors, and partner agencies; resolve issues collaboratively; and maintain positive working relationships in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

  • Demonstrated adaptability, teamwork, and leadership, including the ability to shift priorities quickly, support colleagues during peak workload periods, participate actively in cross‑functional teams, supervise staff effectively, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work culture.

Physical Requirements:

This position is primarily sedentary, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer‑based work, financial analysis, and document preparation. The role requires repetitive hand motions, fingering, and handling tasks associated with using a computer, spreadsheets, financial systems, and standard office equipment.

The position requires occasional standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 10 pounds in the performance of routine administrative tasks. Work requires clear verbal and auditory communication to collaborate with staff, contractors, and stakeholders, and visual acuity to prepare and analyze financial data, review documents, and view computer screens for prolonged periods. The work occurs in a typical office environment with no significant exposure to environmental hazards.
