What You'll Be Doing:

As a Naval Architect II, you'll join a team that blends hands-on naval architecture with innovative engineering solutions. You’ll work on a range of vessels, including steel, aluminum, and composite crafts, from 20’ to 250’. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience across the full spectrum of naval architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed engineering calculations using first principles and tackle design challenges with creative, practical solutions.

  • Support Project Managers in boat and vessel design, providing technical expertise to meet client needs.

  • Adhere to and improve our Engineering Standards and Procedures to ensure top-tier quality and efficiency.

  • Collaborate closely with engineers to document and solve complex design challenges.

  • Complete engineering assignments on time using standard industry software and processes.

  • Provide onsite engineering services to US Navy Combatant Craft Division (Code 83) at Little Creek Amphibious Base.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in naval architecture or marine engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles, practices, and related technologies.

  • Familiarity with industry standards (BS/RINA/LR/ISO/USCG/ABYC) and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Rhino.

  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Naval Architecture or related fields.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

  • Experience working in shipyards or boatyards.

Pay Range:Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
