Overview of the Role:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing all accounting functions and payment processing for the separately managed funds operating in Poland. Areas of responsibility include monthly, quarterly, annual processes and regulatory reporting, as well as assisting in financial management, development of internal control policies and procedures and preparation of the annual budgets and forecasts.
Key responsibilities:
- Keeping the Employer’s Books (FUNDS) or its clients along with the necessary records in accordance with applicable regulations in this field and on the basis of the documents and performing other assigned activities in the scope of accounting, in particular general administrative functions connected with accounting, in particular general administrative functions connected with accounting, performing journal entries and functions connected with accounts payable / accounts receivable.
- Preparation and submission on behalf of the Employer or its clients to the appropriate authorities of reports, statements, information and documents required under the provisions of state statistics, foreign exchange, tax law and other as appropriate.
- Calculation of Corporate Income Tax (“CIT”) advances and annual preparation of CIT settlement, calculations of civil law activities tax, real estate tax, agricultural / forestry tax and other taxes levied under Polish law, which may be necessary as well as preparing and filing returns in this respect and other necessary documents based on the Company’s bookkeeping records and as required by the Polish law.
- Preparation and submission on behalf of the Employer or its clients to the appropriate offices VAT declarations and JPK files.
- Keeping records of fixed and intangible assets of Employer or its clients, including making and recording depreciation / amortization thereof.
- Performing the annual closure of books of Employer or its clients with the drafting of declarations and statements in line with the provisions of Law.
- Representing the Employer or its clients before the Tax Office, Social Insurance Office and the National Labor Inspectorate in all matters relating to its business activity during duration of the contract as well as cooperation with external advisors and auditors.
- Performing bank transfers, managing and supervision over petty cash handed over / entrusted by the Employer to the Employee for Employers business purposes with duty of reconciliation.
- Supervising financial inflows in terms of customer payment terms. Coordination of activities reminding customers of the settlement of overdue payments.
- Preparing financial statement including balance sheet, income statement and budget, reports on current cash liquidity (cash-flow), actual reports (budget vs actual etc) and other financial information for Investor request.
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
- Coordination of adjusting the company's accounting system to the current legal requirements.
- Confidentiality regarding all information it receives from the employer or its clients, in connection with this contract and after its termination.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and customers.
- Everyday reporting and communication with supervisor and the team.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- 5 years’ experience on a similar position
- Academic degree in Finance and Accounting
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Intermediate or advanced Excel proficiency
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX 365 will be an advantage
