The National Sales Specialist implements strategies to establish strong contractual agreements and develop superior relationships with key leaders at Dental Support Organizations and other large dental groups.
Essential Functions

Have a primary focus to prospect and rapidly add new DSO customers to Patterson Dental.
Collaborate and build relationships with local general managers, territory reps and specialists.
Develops and maintains strong relationships DSO Customers at the C-Suite level.
Partners closely with National Key Account Executive to transition, and maintain new customer relationships.
Lead negotiations to acquire new business
Execute at a high level to on-board new customers in partnership with Patterson Dental team.
Maintain relationship with customer key decision makers in partnership with National Account Executive
Maintaining accurate records for prospects, customer orders, sales records, and other financial activity.
Partner with National Account Executive to develop and deliver annual customer reviews
Organize and lead educational events and webinars and drive attendance.
Other duties related to the National Sales Specialist position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in sales, business, economics, finance or related major or equivalent experience and at least 5 years of proven sales experience in business-to-business sales model
Experience in or with the dental industry
Proficient understanding of sales principles
Possesses strong business acumen
Demonstrated ability to lead sales support roles to achieve team quotas.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data to drive business decisions.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining business/customer relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Team player with entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to try new ideas to achieve greater levels of success
Demonstrated success working in an unstructured and entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency and deliver results
Self-motivated, persistent, and goal-oriented attitude and can work effectively as an individual or as part of a team
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
Valid driver’s license along with good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in sales, business, economics, finance or related major.
Professional Sales Certification is highly desired
Working Conditions
This position requires traveling to customer locations and providing services and support to customers.
MAY BE REMOTE. This position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building’s primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers and other office equipment and devices for professional services.
Travel and On-Call
100% travel to customer sites in a regional area
Occasionally out of town for overnight and/or after-hours
