Job DescriptionAbout the role
We are seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead and strengthen our business development function across the SGS Industries portfolio. This is a strategic leadership role focused on building a consistent national approach to market, improving sales performance and driving sustainable revenue growth across multiple service lines.
Reporting to the General Manager – Industries, you will guide a team of Business Development Managers, support commercial structure and accountability, and work closely with business leaders to identify growth opportunities, priority markets and key client relationships.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and deliver a national business development strategy aligned to industry priorities and market opportunities.
- Lead, coach and support Business Development Managers across regions and business lines.
- Drive new business growth, market expansion and cross-selling opportunities across SGS services.
- Build structure, accountability and clear performance measures across the business development team.
- Partner with Business Managers to identify priority sectors, clients and commercial opportunities.
- Oversee strategic accounts and key client relationships, including direct client engagement when required.
- Support tendering, pricing and commercial negotiations in line with SGS processes.
- Maintain strong pipeline visibility through CRM discipline, reporting and performance tracking.
- Contribute to the integration of acquisitions into a coordinated go-to-market approach.
- Champion a strong safety, quality and continuous improvement culture.

- Proven experience leading business development, sales or commercial teams.
- Background in industrial, technical, multi-service, inspection, testing, engineering, oil and gas or related environments.
- Demonstrated ability to grow revenue, expand markets and improve commercial performance.
- Experience leading distributed, national or multi-regional teams.
- Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, negotiation and client relationship management.
- Confidence operating at both strategic and operational levels.
- Strong commercial acumen, professional presentation and a customer-focused approach.
