This position works out in the Established Pharmaceutical Division where we are committed to bringing the benefits of our trusted medicines to more people in the world’s fastest-growing countries. Our broad portfolio of high-quality and differentiated branded generic medicines reaches across multiple therapeutic areas including gastroenterology, women's health, cardiometabolic, pain management/central nervous system, and respiratory.
What You’ll Do:
1 / Sales Delivery and Management
- Works closely with direct reports in implementing an effective Sales Action Plan with the objective of maximizing Abbott business and to ensure achievement of annual company sales and market share targets / objectives.
- Coordinates with Commercial Excellence department to review targeting and segmenting of Abbott customers by building a Customer Value Matrix per core brand per country to maximize Field Force efficiency.
- Secures consistent and sustainable growth in sales and revenue by identifying and developing new market opportunities.
2 / Stakeholders Management:
- Monitors and manages relations with Partners to ensure they assist in promoting and pushing maintaining a sustainable distribution of Abbott products.
- Ensures Distributors to have stock availability on regular basis in line with the clause of contract.
- Monitor closely with Libyan Partners any Tender opportunity as timelines of bidding in very tight.
- Partner more with local Libyan distributors to position well Abbott as credible company with Health Authorities.
- Ensure direct contact with the presence of local partners with the critical stakeholders of our business (NCDC for Vaccines business, biosimilars & MSO for the rest of our portfolio)
- Coordinates with Distributors in building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with different customers in Libya including doctors, pharmacists, purchasers within hospitals/institutions, etc.
- Keep direct contact with different Scientific societies and key Kols in TULIB Market
- Represent Abbott in front of healthcare authorities, attend and drive negotiation with Governmental institutions in both Libya and Tunisia.
- Represent Abbott in the local pharma association.
3 / People Management & Coaching
Acts as a role model to communicate Abbott’s values, as well as core technical and leadership competencies to direct reports.
- Identifies issues that affect employee satisfaction and raises the issues to senior management.
- Builds opportunities for direct reports to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Plans, manages, and reviews individual performance and provides regular informal feedback as required. Conducts formal bi-annual performance appraisals for direct reports and reports on their performance to superiors as required.
- Supervises direct reports’ activities to ensure that staff are delivering according to the sales targets of the established annual plan. Builds mutual understanding and agreement of objectives / strategies.
- Contributes to the coaching, mentoring, and training of direct reports. Ensures that FLMs are sufficiently equipped to manage their direct reports and helps assign certain tasks and sales targets to different individuals depending on the country and the product in line with the approved Objectives agreed on quarterly basis.
- Liaises with COMEX and HR to formulate targeted learning and development training plans based on a needs analysis for each direct report as well as their direct reports.
- Ensures that the right people are placed in the right jobs and staff are performing according to agreed standards.
4 / Compliance and values
- Acts as a role model to communicate Abbott’s values, and act with high level of integrity in Compliance with rules and regulations.
- Acts on Reports raised by management further to any findings coming from OEC Quarterly Monitoring
Required Qualifications
- Business / marketing or medical University degree
- +5 years as high performing Sales Manager or Business Unit manager
- 7 years’ experience in people management
- Demonstrated experience in managing people.
- Therapy area and market experience
- Multi-national exposure
- French/English and Arabic
- Analytical
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Leadership potential formally assessed
