Job Summary
Are you a dynamic sales professional with a passion for the food industry? We’re seeking a relationship builder and collaborative leader in our national sales manager, prepared and packaged beef role to grow sales of our premium packaged, further processed beef products. The primary focus of this role is to identify opportunities and grow sales across all aspects of our business. They will work primarily alongside executive account managers to identify, implement and support sales initiatives in the prepared and packaged category. Additional functions of this role include developing strategic sales plans and goals, providing sales analysis and support during business reviews with processors and assisting in identifying potential new products and processors.

Essential Functions:
- Drive Sales Initiatives: Lead sales efforts for all items in the Prepared and Packaged division.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Work with the Sales Leadership team and Executive Account Managers to set strategic sales direction and implement initiatives.
- Build Relationships: Engage with processors, licensed packers, manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice distributors to explore new business opportunities.
- Showcase Excellence: Collaborate with the Director of Prepared and Packaged Solutions to present items at the Culinary Center, seminars, and events.
- Support and Train: Assist the account management team with business reviews, sales promotions, and training sessions.
- Market Analysis: Conduct competitive sales analysis and market assessments for licensed processors.
- Product Evaluation: Ensure new products and companies align with our brand’s premium standards.
- Trend Alignment: Stay informed on the latest trends to align sales strategies with consumer preferences.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Comfortable in meeting/communicating with upper-level executive groups.
- Speak clearly/effectively in large/small group settings.
- Assist in analyzing and interpreting data.
- Professional, customer service and solution oriented.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with staff and licensees.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to show initiative, provide direction, and work with others as part of a coordinated team effort.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- Education: Bachelor’s or associate degree in business, marketing, animal science, meat science, or food science.
- Experience: 2-3 years in sales in the:
- foodservice, restaurant, meat industry, or retail
- food product development
- business analysis
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may be responsible for supervising members of the Business Development team. This position is salary based and not eligible for commission.
Travel: Must be willing and able to travel (via car or airplane), up to approximately 25-40%. Occasional overnight travel and/or weekend work may be required.
Location: This in-office position is located in Wooster, Ohio.
