Summary:

In this role, you will lead national sales efforts for assigned GPO programs, driving revenue growth by expanding relationships with existing clients and recruiting new business. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior client and distributor leaders, leveraging deep knowledge of GPO programs, client priorities, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and develop solutions. You will partner across sales, account management, marketing, and other internal teams to strengthen contract utilization, expand program participation, develop strategic account plans, and advance high-impact growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute national sales strategies that expand client relationships, recruit new business, increase program participation, and drive revenue growth.

  • Build trusted relationships with key client decision makers and distributor partners, leveraging knowledge of client objectives, business processes, and challenges to identify opportunities and recommend solutions.

  • Lead strategic account planning, pipeline management, and program performance reviews, using Salesforce and data-driven insights to identify opportunities, strengthen contract utilization, and maintain accurate client records.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned GPO programs, monitoring industry trends and the competitive landscape while providing recommendations that strengthen program positioning and performance.

  • Partner with internal teams to identify strategic business opportunities, assess potential solutions, develop business cases, and recommend implementation approaches that address client needs.

  • Advise clients on emerging needs and opportunities, translating business drivers and performance insights into recommendations for programs, products, services, and solutions.

  • Develop and deliver executive-level presentations, performance analyses, reports, and strategic recommendations that demonstrate value, identify cost-saving opportunities, and advance client decision-making.

  • Collaborate with leadership on sales strategy, business planning, budgeting, expense management, performance metrics, and sales representative commission tracking.

  • Develop sales enablement strategies, training, and marketing materials in partnership with sales and marketing teams to strengthen program knowledge and sales effectiveness.

  • Mentor and coach colleagues on consultative selling, relationship development, opportunity identification, business-case development, and strategies for expanding client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Extensive experience in healthcare sales, GPOs, strategic account management, business development, or related healthcare commercial functions preferred.

  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, developing new business, expanding strategic accounts, and increasing contract or program utilization.

  • Strong knowledge of GPO programs, healthcare industry dynamics, distributor relationships, contracting, and complex sales environments preferred.

  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior executives and key client decision makers.

  • Strong business acumen with experience developing strategic account plans, business cases, growth strategies, and client-focused recommendations.

  • Experience using Salesforce or related CRM platforms to manage account plans, pipelines, client information, and sales performance.

  • Excellent consultative selling, negotiation, presentation, analytical, coaching, and written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
