WDAF-TV/Fox 4 Kansas City is seeking a National Sales Assistant. The National Sales Assistant works within established Sales Department guidelines to maximize station revenue opportunities from an order entry, traffic and accounting perspective. The Sales assistant is also responsible for performing all clerical functions required by department personnel as needed.

- Work in collaboration with all facets of the sales department: national sales, local sales, digital sales, traffic and research
- Enter orders/revisions in WideOrbit.
- Communicate with national rep firm regarding preempted commercials and provide make-good offers. This includes following up with all unresolved preempts.
- Provide commercial advertising times and rating point analyses to rep firm as needed.
- Notify National Sales Office of runs due to programming overruns, late-breaking news, etc.
- Support Sales Managers by working with Creative Services on commercial production projects.
- Communicates with our National Reps and buyers; confers with Sales Manager and coworkers to answer inquiries and resolve account problems
- Responsible for entering Political orders and uploading Political orders/forms to the FCC file and keeping the file current
- Distribute reports to sales management when needed.
- Submit advertising copy instructions to the traffic department.
- Work with other sales support personnel when needed.
- Support other station departments and initiatives when needed
- Perform or assist with additional projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills:
- High School diploma
- Fluency in English
- Minimum one year’s experience in clerical support or administrative assistance, preferably in the sales or media fields
- Personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work under strict deadlines
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Proficient with MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to learn industry software such as Strata, Wide Orbit, Nielson, ComScore
