The National Insights Manager’s primary responsibility is to provide national leadership on insights that inform top-line strategy and selling tools for Multi-Channel Sales, with a focus on long-term channel strategy.
This role will lead the development of insights for monthly communications, retailer topline reviews, and business planning. It will involve a balance of strategic analysis and operational execution. Projects will span multiple channels, including Drug, Value, Specialty Retail, Business Development, and Military.
Job DescriptionSTRATEGIC ANALYSIS AND PLANNING
Lead and support the development of the multi-channel volume plan and forecast.
Ensure best-in-class share and retailer planning processes across all channels, specifically including plan-to-actual gap analysis for both volume and budget.
Develop and implement turnkey, scalable tools for measuring KPIs across all multi-channel verticals.
Assess data, generate insights, and develop clear action plans to support growth.
Contribute to the development of the long-term channel strategy through data analytics and collaboration across all HQ and regional departments, as well as with external retailer networks where appropriate, from initial design through to implementation.
STANDARD REPORTS AND PROCESSES
Identify business opportunities across all channels and provide qualitative and quantitative analytical recommendations that drive market improvement.
Develop financial decision-support tools to optimize budgeting and overall business performance.
Use data (Numerator, Circana, and brand data) and collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement best-in-class tools to track and measure business plan initiatives across each multi-channel vertical.
ANALYSIS
Take full ownership of the content for monthly leadership and commercial review calls, including current business performance, key learnings, and future priorities.
Prepare briefings for the Leadership Team using data and insights.
Lead the creation of retailer-facing executive business updates for our top accounts.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Provide leadership and support from development through implementation, including preparing business case proposals; partnering with key stakeholders across departments to effectively track project milestones (e.g., BP/RE); and identifying and coordinating resource needs as appropriate.
Manage and analyze ad hoc projects, including but not limited to sales processes, strategic initiatives, partnerships/adjacencies, and price pack architecture.
Coordinate, communicate, and manage all POS (point-of-sale) ordering with Distribution and Trade Marketing teams for Specialty and Military channels.
Lead the REACH project and coordinate SaMo cross-functional activities required to bring new accounts online.
Qualifications5+ years of experience in an analytical management role in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
Highly skilled in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
Experience with IRI, Numerator, and syndicated data
Experience in Business/Management Consulting is a plus
Knowledge of retail landscape (local as well as National accounts)
Ability to work across functions including headquarters, field/business units and retailers
Ability to work comfortably cross-functionally with key partners, inclusive of IT…”techy by nature” and Trade Finance
High-Level understanding of reporting technology and capabilities
Proven ability to interpret sales data, analyze results and provide actionable recommendations
Ability to convert analytics into insights
Sales-orientation, understands connections between data and sales execution
Additional InformationThis position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.
The base salary range for this position is $92,000 to $138,000 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
