National Accounts General Manager
Company: Famous Enterprises
Location: Akron, OH (with national travel as needed)
Reports To: Executive Leadership
Direct Reports: National Accounts Support Staff (including Sales Support, Regional Operations Managers, Inside Sales Quotation Specialists, and Administrative Support)
Position Summary:Famous Enterprises is seeking a dynamic and strategic National Accounts General Manager to lead our national accounts division within the HVAC and plumbing distribution industry. This role will be responsible for driving growth, managing key customer relationships, and leading a high-performing support team to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence across our national footprint.Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a national account strategy that aligns with Famous Enterprises’ growth objectives and customer service standards.
  • Customer Engagement: Serve as the executive point of contact for national accounts, ensuring long-term satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a team of National Accounts Support Representatives, Customer Service Managers, and Inside Sales/Quotations staff. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure seamless coordination between sales, logistics, and customer service teams to meet service-level agreements and delivery expectations.
  • Sales Enablement: Collaborate with outside sales and vendor partners to support quoting, pricing, and bid strategies for commercial plumbing and HVAC projects.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs, customer feedback, and team performance to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement improvements.
  • Compliance & Confidentiality: Uphold all contractual and confidentiality obligations as outlined in Famous Enterprises’ national accounts agreements and NDAs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related experience
  • 8+ years of experience in national account management or sales leadership within the HVAC/plumbing distribution industry preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex customer relationships.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Familiarity with Famous Supplies’ product lines, distribution model, and customer base.
  • Experience managing support teams across multiple locations.
  • Ability to travel nationally up to 60%.
