Scope:

The National Account Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth and managing strategic relationships with assigned national retail accounts. This role oversees all aspects of account performance, including sales execution, forecasting, trade investment, pricing strategy, promotional planning, and cross-functional coordination. The National Account Manager acts as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and exceptional customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for sales performance and smooth execution of all sales opportunities within assigned national retail accounts.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned revenue, margin, and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage accurate product forecasts; communicate updates to internal stakeholders as required.
  • Oversee the full order lifecycle in collaboration with the Sales Order Coordination team.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with assigned accounts to assess progress toward SMART goals, identify growth opportunities, and maintain proactive communication.
  • Manage retailer planograms and inventory plans, ensuring alignment with delivery timelines and promotional strategies.
  • Monitor inventory levels for assigned accounts; identify risks or discrepancies and escalate as appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive account plans, including product assortment, pricing strategy, and trade spend management.
  • Manage product flow to ensure maximum order fulfillment and minimal inventory risk.
  • Plan and execute advertising initiatives, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Serve as a category expert with in-depth product knowledge; stay current on industry trends and upcoming product launches.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal departments to ensure best-in-class customer service.
  • Act as the primary liaison between customers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Promote collaboration and innovation by partnering with internal stakeholders to drive new business opportunities and resolve open issues.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of sales experience managing national retail accounts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly developed organizational, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Solid understanding of profit and loss (P&L) drivers and margin management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple account initiatives simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s licence and passport; willingness to travel domestically and within the United States as required.
