We’re looking to hire a talented National Account Manager, Specialty Markets.
Reporting to the Sales Director, Retail and eCommerce, the National Account Manager, Specialty Markets is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations, including market competitiveness, pricing, and distribution and channel strategy. This position includes for business development. The National Account Manager the company’s achievement of its revenue and customer acquisition goals. Key focus is with strategic Industrial, Automotive and Hardware target customers including but not limited to Fastenal, Grainger, Integrated Supply Network and Northern Tool.
Primary Duties
- Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals.
- Travel for in-person meetings with customers and sales agencies to develop key relationships.
- Manage the sales agents (reps), national accounts, and sales resources to deliver profitable growth.
- Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement.
- Manage the industrial and commercial sales and marketing budgets and provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
- Hire and develop industrial and commercial sales agents.
- Define sales processes that drive the desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when required.
- Compile information and data related to customer and sales agency interactions.
- Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.
- Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel, and partner programs.
- Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years professional sales management.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and experience in a similar sales position.
- Industrial product knowledge; industrial sales experience, with welding or related sales experience preferred.
- Proven experience in exceeding sales quotas and expectations.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
- Strong networking and referral building ability.
Working Conditions
- Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking stooping and standing.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment ‘PPE’ when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones.
- Moves transports, puts, or removes equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.; pushes, pulls products weighing up to 200 lbs. using provided safety tools.
- May be exposed to varying weather during travel.
- Domestic travel required approximately 40-50%.
