Position Overview
Hunter Douglas, a market leader in window coverings, is on a mission to become the fastest-growing, most loved, and most efficient window coverings company in the world. Our unique business model is structured around brands based on product or function with a vertically integrated supply chain. As a leader in our Supply Chain and Operations division, you will play a pivotal role in driving improvements in both product quality and operational excellence across our North American region. This role will focus on re-imagining our quality systems, driving continuous improvement across processes, and leading the way in customer experience.

What you'll do
Quality Leadership & Improvement
- Re-imagine and lead the integration of Quality Management and Continuous Improvement within the unified Supply Chain organization, ensuring consistency across multiple brands and operations facilities.
- Lead the development and execution of key quality improvement projects, ensuring that customer quality expectations are met, and that operational standards are optimized.
- Partner with R&D teams to ensure that critical quality attributes are designed into new products and resolve any post-launch quality issues quickly.
- Use Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to improve both product quality and operational performance, including process optimization and defect reduction.
- Lead efforts to understand customer experience and track real-time quality trends through intelligent data analytics and performance metrics.
- Build and lead a team of Quality & Continuous Improvement professionals, mentoring and coaching team members to drive performance improvements.
- Optimize the recently implemented HDNA/One-HD SAP Quality Management system, driving system enhancements, collecting user feedback, and ensuring it meets business needs.
- Manage the deployment and enhancement of quality tools and best practices across internal and external teams through a Center of Excellence (COE).
- Develop and manage Standard Work processes across all functional teams to ensure alignment with corporate strategies, goals, and Lean Six Sigma standards.
- Work closely with suppliers and plant leadership to ensure quality improvements and Lean implementation are integrated across the supply chain, including driving improvements in supplier performance.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Lead and own the execution of the Hunter Douglas Management System (HDMS), focusing on continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, etc.).
- Collaborate with operations leaders across different functions to drive improvements in key performance metrics, including cost, quality, delivery, safety, and employee engagement.
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and problem-solving initiatives, coaching teams on the application of Lean tools and driving the implementation of improvements across multiple sites.
- Use the 80/20 mindset to prioritize improvements, driving focus on high-impact areas that deliver the greatest value to the organization.
- Develop and implement KPI tracking systems to measure progress and escalate actions to address any performance gaps.
- Mentor and coach Lean Six Sigma Green Belts/Black Belts within the organization to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are led with passion and precision.
- Ensure the adherence to Tier Management processes and other operational excellence frameworks across all levels of the business.
Who you are
Basic Qualifications, Education & Experience (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Computer Science, or a related technical field. An advanced degree is a plus.
- 8-15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in Quality Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or Operations Management.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams across multiple facilities or locations, with a focus on improving both product quality and operational performance.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, proven track record of successfully leading large-scale improvement projects.
- Extensive experience with SAP Quality Management (QM) systems, including Inspection Plans, MIC, and core QM processes. Experience with SAP ME/MII is a plus.
- Expertise in Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 9001, and audit experience is a plus.
- Ability to lead large, cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
- Exceptional project management, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze data, present findings, and influence decision-making across the organization
Preferred Qualifications, Education & Experience
- An Advanced degree is a plus
- Master Black Belt certification
- Experience in these areas are also a plus; ISO9001 Lead auditor experience, ASQ Quality certification, Experience with SAP ME/MII (Manufacturing Execution/Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence).
