The NA Production Manager will:

  • Manage all processes associated with regional Small Seed Vegetable seed production, multiplication and production planning, grower allocation, contracting and pricing of seed production and delivery to seed conditioning sites to satisfy market requirements for quality, quantity, timing and price (‘QQTP’). 
  • Development and maintenance of appropriate external 3rd party tolling relationships which includes production activities and may include further seed processing, as required.
  • Lead and develop the seed production organisations for all SSV across Designated region
  • Communicate and liase with all relevant stakeholders to enable one team - one goal strategy for SSV sourcing and production.

  • Develop, supervise & lead a network of regional production personnel with clear accountabilities and plans for succession and personal development.
  • Build organizational capability to meet the combined challenges of competitive COGS and product quality, alongside an increasingly complex product offer.
  • Engage in creating a platform for the global production community to connect, cooperate, share best practices, and set the required prioritized actions to execute the Seed Production Plan (SPP).
  • Achieve full function-wide compliance with external and internal standards on HSE, product quality, Code of Conduct, and key risk management processes; engage in shaping the space on new internal standards and compliance processes.
  • Build effective working relationships with relevant functions such as Processing, Global Seed Sourcing, Supply OPS, Quality, Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain.
  • Act as a member of the Global SSV Production Leadership Team to shape functional process, standards and culture.
  • Interface with Research and Development (R&D), Global production Crop Strategist, Supply Chain and Commercial to implement/execute agreed upon strategies and improvements for supply reliability.
  • Actively engage in the crop and operational planning to meet business objectives; ensure achievable plans are agreed and risks shared and understood, deliver to the agreed plan.
  • Collaborating with Global Seed Sourcing personnel ensure required production data is actively collected and analyzed to promote continous improvement.
  • Develop and ensure that assigned crops have a crop production strategy and investment plan.
  • Develop and implement key field management processes and procedures in seed production, measured with appropriate KPI’s.
  • Deliver the approved SPP (QQTP) within agreed upon tolerances.
  • Develop operational budgets to meet business planning expectations; manage operational costs within these agreed budgets and develop compelling business cases for unplanned spend.

Qualifications

  • Master or Bachelor degree in agriculture / business
  • Functional knowledge of seed production operations and vendor management
  • Experience in planning and agriculture business processes
  • Fluent in English
  • Global mindset and experience working in a multi-cultural & cross functional environment
  • Financial knowledge & data analytics
