Purpose of the Role
The Assistant Finance Manager – Customer Analytics will serve as a key finance partner supporting the Customer Development and Foods Business Unit by delivering strong financial analysis, disciplined Trade Terms Spend management, accurate forecasting, and customer-level profitability insights. The role will help steward trade investment end-to-end, support trade P&L forecasting, and provide clear visibility into business performance, risks, opportunities, and resource allocation choices.
This role partners closely with Customer Development, BU Category Leads, CS&P, CD Operations, and cross-functional teams to enable profitable growth, improve trade visibility, and strengthen financial controls across customers and categories.
Key Responsibilities
• Trade Investment Decision Support
• Partner with BU Category Leads, CS&P, and Performance Portfolio Management to support trade investment decisions, scenario planning, ROI evaluations, and strategic guidance.
• Provide forward-looking insights into drivers of performance, risks and opportunities, and recommended interventions to improve business outcomes.
• Analyze trade effectiveness, promotional performance, customer investments, and ROI to guide where to prioritize resources across customers and categories.
Trade Spend Management & Governance
• Support monthly management, forecasting, and reporting of Trade Terms Spend.
• Collaborate with CSP teams to review trade budgets, optimize spend, and track compliance to annual agreements.
• Partner with CBD teams through Pigment trade reconciliation, helping bridge discrepancies and provide clarity on trade over/under positions by account.
• Monitor trade investment performance and identify risks, opportunities, and commercial levers that may impact the total trade position.
Forecasting, Reporting & Financial Control
• Prepare and support trade accruals, forecasts, and customer P&Ls.
• Support the trade forecasting and cash-up process in PBCS in partnership with CD Operations.
• Investigate variances, identify anomalies, and support month-end close activities.
• Maintain accurate financial reporting, strong data integrity, and audit-ready documentation for trade programs.
• Partner with CD Operations to ensure correct financial flow to EG and proper accounting treatment for trade programs.
Business Partnering & Insights
• Provide actionable insights on sales, trade spend, customer profitability, volume forecasts, customer incentives, and commercial performance drivers.
• Support customer negotiations, promotional analyses, and business case development.
• Generate customer- and category-level analysis to help the BU understand performance drivers, shape category strategies, and make better trade allocation decisions.
• Build trusted partnerships with CBD, CS&P, Supply Chain, CD Operations, and BU stakeholders to support commercial decision-making.
Continuous Improvement
• Support system evolution and process enhancements across Pigment, PBCS, and ways-of-working redesigns to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility.
• Drive reporting simplification, process improvements, and better trade transparency across Foods NA.
• Contribute to stronger forecasting accuracy, improved trade controls, and more effective business performance management.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in Finance, Commercial Finance, FP&A, Customer Development Finance, or a related analytical finance role.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with planning, reporting, or analytics tools such as Evergreen, SASS, Pigment, PBCS, SAP, or Power BI preferred.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $88,600 to $133,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
