About the position: This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information by overseeing key accounting processes, supporting the monthly and annual closing cycles, and strengthening internal controls. Act as a key point of coordination with the accounting outsourcing provider and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality financial reporting and compliance with applicable standards and policies.

 

Key responsibilities:

·       Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate execution of the monthly and year-end closing processes across all entities and regions.
·       Coordinate and supervise the accounting outsourcing provider, including review and validation of journal entries, reconciliations, and deliverables.
·       Review and analyze General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, proper classification, and consistency with supporting documentation, making sure compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
·       Perform and supervise balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items.
·       Monitor payroll-related accounting processes (HQ and Regions), including validation of postings, provisions, and related liabilities.
·       Ensure proper accounting of staff-related transactions, including timesheet postings, advances, loans, and provisions.
·       Identify, propose, and implement accounting adjustments, reclassifications, and write-offs when required.
·       Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules, analysis, and documentation.
·       Coordinate with internal teams (HR, Treasury, Projects) to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information.
·       Propose and implement improvements in accounting processes, controls, and documentation practices.
·       Comply with applicable CIP health, safety, safeguarding, and administrative policies and procedures.


Requirements

What are we looking for?

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with diploma or specialization in finance topic
·       At least 6 years of professional experience in accounting preferably in a non-profit environment.
·       Proficiency in MS Office, especially in Excel.
·       Accounting software packages (ERP Preferable)
·       Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
·       Experience or strong technical knowledge in areas such as not-for-profit accounting, IFRS application, budget development and management, financial analysis, auditing, and taxation will be highly valued.
