Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior System Operations Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
- Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
- Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
- Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
- Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience managing large-scale Middleware environments, including Solace appliances or Brokers.
- Strong hands-on experience with Solace PubSub+ appliances.
- Expertise in handling larger Application Migrations on Solace Appliances.
- Expertise in firmware upgrades, patching, and maintenance lifecycle.
- Solid experience with TLS/SSL certificate management (CSR creation, renewal, rotation, trust store updates).
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware alerts, including Fan/temperature, Disk/SSD, NIC and redundancy issues, HA failovers.
- Experience coordinating vendor support (Solace TAC) including RMA, part replacement, and RCA.
- Strong operational knowledge of VPN creation, Queue / Topic Endpoint creation, ACL profiles, client profiles, quotas.
- Skills in performance tuning/window tuning for high throughput and low latency.
- Experience using CLI, SolAdmin, SEMP API, and monitoring dashboards.
- Strong L3 troubleshooting skills for production platforms.
- Understanding of HA/DR architecture in Solace.
- Knowledge of replay, transaction settings, and advanced Solace features.
- Experience implementing DMR (Dynamic Message Routing) or event mesh.
- Automation/scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible).
- Experience with other messaging platforms (Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ).
- Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP) with Solace PubSub+ Cloud.
- Networking concepts: BGP, routing, multicast, certificates at enterprise scale.
- Experience managing capacity planning and throughput optimization.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk).
- Solace certification (SSC or architecture).
- Experience supporting an enterprise-level environment.
- Thorough understanding compliance standards and risk management practices for systems within the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sector.
- Provide implementation support for key risk initiatives.
- ITIL v4 Certification.
