Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure engineer for Middleware & Messaging Operations team
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications
- Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure
- Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
- Review and analyse high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future
- Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third-party vendors
- Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
- Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements
- Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
- Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

- 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

- Hands-on experience at scale on Middleware (IBM MQ- [Appliance, x86 & zLinux], IBM Message Broker, KAFKA, Solace) Administration performing activities build, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, deploys, configuring, patching and compliance.
- Experience in configuring HA clusters like RHCS / Veritas /TSAMP and Multi Instance MQ qmgrs and troubleshooting issues involving HA clusters.
- Experience on IBM MQ on zOS, zLinux, Linux, AIX.
- Creating, configuring, and maintaining MQ Objects like Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Listeners, Topics
- Good understanding of MQ monitoring tools like IR360
- Hands on experience on IBM API Connect and manage WMB topology, ACE upgrades.
- Experience with Kafka Connect worker and connectors (Source and Sink)
- Protect the Kafka cluster with ingress connections and tune the Quotas, Request Percentages
- Experience on setting Confluent platform with MRC and SBK
- Ability to troubleshoot Authentication, Authorization issues.
- Experience SSL certificate management
- Experience in using Ansible jobs.
- Experience in using observability products like Grafana and Splunk
- Experience in writing Shell / Python scripts
- MQ Appliance
- 5+ years of Experience on IBM MQ Hardware Appliance and IBM MQ Distributed maintaining huge Distributed Clusters
- 5+ years of Experience in IBM MQ on different clustering techniques like RHCS, TSAMP, VCS etc.
- 5+ years of Experience on IBM MQ Hardware Appliance High Availability Clustering and Data Replication setup across multiple DCs.
- Experience on IBM MQ on zLinux, Linux, AIX OS flavors.
- Expertise on Handling the Large-scale migrations from MQ on On-prem/Cloud to MQ Hardware Appliance
- Expertise in handling the MQ hardware Appliance support, High Availability Clustering, Backup/Restore Procedures
- Design and establish procedures to build Appliances on Multi DC with replication and define an end-to-end automation strategy (tooling, ownership, and delivery timelines)
- Advise on MQ Hardware Appliance with capacity modelling and appliance sizing guidance to enable accurate footprint and cost planning.
- Help build/mature the MQ Hardware Appliance in terms of monitoring and alerting solution, including baseline thresholds and automated alerts, as a Day-1 operational requirement.
- Define and enforce a formal operational readiness framework on MQ Hardware Appliance encompassing security, compliance, access control, monitoring, observability, architecture, and support models before any production onboarding.
- Ability to interact with all levels of an organization, including leadership.
- Strong team or technical leadership experience Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Provide assistance in Problem determination and resolution at L2/L3 level
- Design new services, tools, and monitoring to be implemented at Enterprise level

- Experience working with Vendors on Product Troubleshooting
- Establishing and documenting production run books and guidelines for Admin and Support operations

- Help build/mature the Solace Hardware Appliance in terms of monitoring and alerting solutions, including baseline thresholds and automated alerts, as a Day-1 operational requirement.
