Description
Part-Time / Temporary/ Non-Exempt / 20-25 hours per week, flexible schedule, incorporating occasional evenings and weekends as needed. The Museum is an EOE.
The Museum School Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for the E.L. Cord Museum School. Working closely with the Museum School Director, this position assists with student and instructor communications, classroom and supply preparation, and day-to-day administrative tasks that help classes, workshops, and camps run smoothly.
Serving as a welcoming point of contact for students and instructors, the Museum School Coordinator helps create an organized, supportive and creative learning environment while ensuring the Museum School has the resources needed for successful program delivery. This position reports to the E.L. Cord Museum School Director.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide responsive, professional support to students, families, and instructors while fostering a welcoming and organized Museum School environment.
- Serving as the primary point of contact respond to student inquiries via email and phone regarding classes, camps, and registration.
- Provide administrative support for Museum School operations, including data entry, scheduling, recordkeeping, and program coordination.
- Represent the Museum School at Museum programs including First Thursday, Hands ON! Second Saturday, and open houses, helping connect new audiences with Museum School opportunities.
- Partner with the Museum School Director to brainstorm, develop, and refine new class concepts.
- Help prepare classrooms for classes and workshops by ensuring spaces are clean, organized, and properly equipped before or after classes.
- Monitor, organize, and maintain supply closets and classroom materials.
- Track inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Assist in receiving incoming materials and picking up supplies from local distributors as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to shift between tasks, respond to interruptions, and quickly refocus in a dynamic environment.
- Studio art practice and a broad working knowledge of art media preferred.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and the ability to lift 50lbs.
