Rivers Health is seeking a full-time Multi Discipline Technologist.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs radiologic and computerized tomographic examinations according to routine views and/or physician requests in a manner which is competent to each respective area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job.
The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.
- Performs quality radiographic procedures according to department
policy and procedure.
- Evaluates radiographic quality of films prior to interpretation.
- Prepares patients for examinations obtaining pertinent histories and
explaining the examination.
- Performs C.A.T. scans according to routine procedures.
- Coordinates scheduling, transportation and scanning of patients.
- Maintains cleanliness of room and equipment. Orders supplies used
in the operation of the C.A.T. scanner and assigned radiology room.
- Follows safety and infection control policies of department and
hospital.
- Takes call as scheduled.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned.
- Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies and
Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook.
- Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.
- Will participate in quality improvement activities including serving
on quality improvement teams.

Preferred Qualifications
Must have satisfactorily completed an AMA approved Radiology Technology
program and be able to meet the registry requirements by the ARRT. Must be licensed by the state of WV.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must have knowledge of medical terminology and be able to read requests for examinations. Must have adequate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Must be able to work with numerals, decimals and fractions. Must be able to effectively communicate information to patient and physicians. Must be able to identify and assess the special needs of patients of all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics. Must be able to effectively communicate with the patient.
Skills Required
- Completion of an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program and ability to meet ARRT registry requirements
- State of West Virginia radiologic technologist licensure
- Ability to perform CT scans and routine radiographic procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
- Ability to read and interpret examination requests
- Ability to work with numerals, decimals, and fractions
- Effective communication with patients and physicians
- Ability to identify and assess special needs of patients of all age groups
- Willingness to take scheduled call shifts
- Adherence to departmental and hospital safety and infection control policies
