The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- rovide thought leadership on database architectural design of existing and new systems, database administration, performance monitoring tuning, troubleshooting problems and expansion.
- Evaluate and implement products to enhance existing database solutions (reduce costs, improve efficiency, improve performance).
- Review, enhance and develop backup and recovery strategies depending on SLA requirements.
- Capacity planning and monitoring database growth.
- Develop, maintain, and administer complex ETL using SQL Server (SSIS).
- Design, maintain and ensure High Availability solutions including replication, clustering etc.
- Design, implement and document Disaster Recovery strategies for critical business servers.
- Perform capacity planning work on Production, UA, QA, DEV and DR environments.
- Research improvements to improve overall system performance.
- Participate in 24 X 7 Support of production environment and mission-critical applications with the Database Technology team on a rotational schedule.
- Communicate and coordinate with other IT teams to successfully resolve support and maintenance issues.
- Develop and enforce database standards and best practices including performance, security, monitoring policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience in Cloud infrastructure and network engineering.
- Completed training & Certifications in Azure, AWS and GCP Associcate level
- 7 years of experience developing, maintaining, and administering MS SQL Server databases.
- Nice to have Oracle 9g/10g/11g/12c databases experience.
- Experience configuring SQL Server replication required.
- Know-how of cluster management areas, such as adding/bootstrapping/removing nodes, consistency tuning, replication, and multi-DC configuration.
- Experience and knowledge of monitoring, management, capacity planning and compaction strategy
- Experience in database backup and recovery, connectivity and security, and role management.
- Goal driven, highly motivated, with a desire to take the lead and learn new skills.
- Strong customer service skills and passion to work through obstacles to produce results.
- Able to work in a projects-based, team environment.
- Hands on experience of Windows or Linux operating System.Proficiency in Ansible and Terraform automation tools.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with AIOps platforms and observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- One of the certifications – AZ-90 and AZ 400, DBS-C01,DP300,PCDE , Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer are desirable
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
