Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the solution meets the technical requirements of a material-handling project and is carried out within cost and time scale constraints.
To interpret design input information (including mechanical design and data lists) to produce control system designs.
Production of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
Design and production of electrical layouts and schematic drawings using appropriate CAD tools.
Procurement of electrical equipment including control panels and field devices.
Liaising with suppliers on technical matters.
Travel to customer sites to support the commercial team with new enquiries and conduct site surveys as part of the design process.
General Responsibilities:
To liaise with systems sales and project engineers during project phase.
To liaise with installation supervisors, sub-contractors and customer during order execution phase.
To liaise with production planning and purchase departments.
To liaise with and provide technical information to any department so entitled, i.e. controls, mechanical, projects, service, spares.
To comply with the company policy as defined in the Staff Handbook, Safety Manual, and Quality Assurance Manual.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential: HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
Essential: To be conversant with AutoCAD, E-Plan, Word, Excel, Outlook.
Desirable: previous experience in materials handling industry
Essential: At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
Desirable: Good understanding of distributed control systems
There may be a need to support activities across the EMEA region. This may necessitate some occasional travel outside of the ‘home country’ across the EMEA region.
