The OSS L2 Engineer acts as the second-level support for Operations Support Systems (OSS) servers including MantaRay, NSP, ARC, SON, HP EMS,ZTS,NCP and NCOM. This role involves deeper technical troubleshooting, complex incident management, system administration, and coordination with L3 teams and vendors to ensure network performance, stability, and service continuity.
Responsibilities- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex incidents related to OSS servers (MantaRay, NSP, ARC, SON, HP EMS, ZTS).
- Handle escalations from L1 and ensure end-to-end incident closure according to SLA.
- Manage and administer OSS server environments including configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
- Monitor system health, alarms, logs, and automate routine operational tasks for efficiency.
- Collaborate with L3 support teams, vendors, and cross-functional teams for problem resolution and service improvements.
- Maintain documentation including incident records, change management logs, and operational procedures.
- Execute backup, disaster recovery, and failover procedures ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Support integration, commissioning, and administration of OSS network elements and tools.
- Support ITIL-based processes including incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
- Create and update service requests, change requests, and maintain ticketing system accuracy.
- Assist in automation and scripting tasks (Shell, Python, Ansible) to enhance operational efficiency
- Provide L2 support and administration for OpenShift environments, including cluster monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Must-have:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
- Typically, 7-10 years of experience in OSS operations or telecom network support.
- Strong knowledge of OSS systems in telecom, especially MantaRay, NSP, ARC, SON, HP EMS, NCOM, NCP and ZTS platforms.
- Proficient in Linux OS (CentOS, RHEL, etc.) administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience in server and network monitoring tools, fault management, and alarm handling.
- Good scripting skills in Shell, Python or similar automation tools
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.

- Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
- RHCSA and OpenShift/Kubernetes Certificate will be added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
