Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the SQL Server instances and other data repositories in the SCA environment
- Ensuring the backups of SQL Server instances are completed successfully, troubleshooting backup failures, and verifying the backups are complete
- Ensuring that the access to SQL Servers and other data repositories is implemented and maintained according to SCA, Industry, HIPPA, and SOX security guidelines and regulations
- Ensuring that SQL Servers that are maintained by vendors or local IT resources are maintained following SCA, Industry, HIPPA, and SOX guidelines and regulations
- Tuning SQL Servers and other data repositories to ensure optimum response and resource utilization
- Rotating through administrative functions and cross training with the Data operations team
- Following change management processes for all database related changes and deployments
- Documenting and adhering to standard procedures and best practices
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, or equivalent, with 5+ years practical experience in a live business environment
- 4+ years of experience supporting SQL Server in a cloud environment
- Knowledge of relational database concepts, modern data warehousing concepts, Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and higher, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS
- Understanding of basic ASC systems, data structures, and accounting implementations
- AI First mindset
- Ability to operate a computer for prolonged periods of time
- Proven ability to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical individuals
- Proven proactive, decisive, action-oriented individual with solid written and verbal communication skills
- Proven excellent interpersonal, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to be broadly focused on multiple efforts concurrently
- Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization; including staff, business stakeholders, and all levels of management
- Ability to travel occasionally, as needed
