MRO Coordinator will be responsible for performing all purchasing and distribution tasks for products and services used to maintain and repair our machines. Safety, quality, productivity, and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for the preparation and issuance of purchase orders for products and services that are used to maintain and repair machines or building.
- Manage all aspects of purchasing and distribution while taking into account cost-effective solutions.
- Communicate with the vendors, foster a team atmosphere, and report on progress.
- Assess purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Receive price quotes from vendors, compare quotes against requirements, and purchase orders via email.
- Coordinate purchasing activities with maintenance department to maintain inventory at planned levels.
- Follow up on orders, expediting if necessary.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate stock of spare parts and parts room is organized.

Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in purchasing function (or equivalent), preferably food related.
