The Mountain Operations Manager is a key operational leader at Woodward Park City responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality on-mountain experiences. Reporting to the Director of Mountain Operations & Facilities, this role leads teams responsible for lift operations and winter snow tubing operations, ensuring operational excellence, strong team performance, and best-in-class guest experience.

The Mountain Operations Manager drives operational execution while fostering a positive, inclusive team culture and maintaining strong safety and compliance standards.  In order to be successful in this role, this person needs to be active in the field, engaging with operational personnel and guests, as well as having a strong office technology skillset for scheduling, payroll, and project management.

What you will do:

Lead & Develop Teams

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 50–75 employees, including supervisors and frontline staff.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate team members.
  • Drive a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture that supports our core brand identity around untamed play and the creative athlete.

Oversee Mountain Operations

  • Manage daily lift and tubing operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and guest experience.
  • Adjust operations based on weather, staffing, and guest volume.
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence to support teams and guests.

Drive Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Partner with Risk Management to maintain safety standards and compliance.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and incident reviews.

Manage Operations & Performance

  • Oversee labor, scheduling, and operational expenses.
  • Track performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support seasonal planning and operational readiness.

Improve Processes & Collaborate

  • Develop standard operating procedures and training programs to improve consistency and performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Facilities, Guest Services, Risk, and HR.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in operations, outdoor recreation, or a similar environment.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and manage day-to-day operations.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, and operational planning.
  • Commitment to safety, team culture, and guest experience.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the day.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasons.
