Meet the team!Welcome to Preply's Creative Chapter, where innovation meets passion to craft remarkable experiences for learners and tutors. We're not just creatives, we're on a mission to redefine language learning, guided by empathy and driven by a customer-centric approach to building meaningful products.
As a Motion Designer (Localization) in Brand, you'll put your technical craft and process-building skills into practice and leave a lasting mark on how Preply shows up across the world. You'll join our Creative Studio, working closely with motion designers, video editors, and our localization team to ensure every piece of content we create can be experienced in any language, at the same level of quality.
What you’ll be doingWe're looking for a Motion Designer who is as much a systems thinker as a visual craftsperson. Your primary focus will be owning Preply's motion localization pipeline: localizing motion design and videos to multiple markets and languages, building the workflows, templates, and processes that allow us to deliver high-quality video assets across 5–9 languages reliably and at speed. When localization capacity allows, you'll also contribute to creative motion design projects alongside the broader team.
Localization Ownership: Take end-to-end ownership of motion localization for Preply's video assets: campaigns, HUB content, product videos, and social, across 5–9 target languages including ES, DE, IT, PL, FR, JP, and KR. Deliver multiple language versions per project with consistent quality, cultural fit, and brand fidelity.
Systems & Template Building: Design and document localization systems and After Effects templates that make our workflow faster and less dependent on individual availability. Build processes the whole team can follow, not just you.
Quality Control: Own QC across all language variants before anything reaches stakeholder review. Proactively flag text overflow, spec mismatches, missing frames, and process gaps: don't wait to be told.
Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with the localization team, video editor, and motion designers to check review cycles, text updates, and final delivery. Keep multiple language pipelines moving simultaneously without losing track of any of them.
Creative Motion Design: Contribute to original motion design work, developing animations from scratch when localization capacity allows and the team needs support.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Motion Design, Visual Communications, Animation, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a Motion Designer, with demonstrated focus on localization or multi-language video production.
Proven experience localizing motion or video assets to 5+ languages simultaneously, this is the core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
Strong After Effects proficiency: expressions, Essential Graphics templates, pre-comps, batch work, and multi-format render pipelines.
Working knowledge of Premiere Pro for editorial handoff and Figma for design reference and asset management.
A track record of building or improving localization workflows: templates, naming conventions, file structure- not just executing tasks handed to you.
Sharp eye for detail and a personal approach to quality control that doesn't rely on others.
Comfortable with batch work, high project volume, and systematic delivery across multiple simultaneous deadlines.
Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively across cross-functional teams.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work autonomously throughout projects.
Emerging technologies and AI tools knowledge or interest, especially tools relevant to localization workflows.
Portfolio showcasing multi-language motion projects and evidence of systematic or process-driven work.
An open, collaborative, dynamic and diverse culture;
A generous monthly allowance for lessons on Preply.com, Learning & Development budget and time off for your self-development;
A competitive financial package with equity, leave allowance and health insurance;
Not in Barcelona? We offer an attractive relocation package to join us in our Preply Barcelona Hub
Access to free mental health support platforms;
Access to Gympass-partnered wellness and gym centers throughout Spain to promote and support well-being and physical health;
The opportunity to unlock the potential of learners and tutors through language learning and teaching in 175 countries (and counting!).
