Senior Processor with exceptional analytical ability to assess conventional, portfolio and government loan requests based on product, underwriting, and investor guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze condo, co-op and pud project documentation against current investor guidelines, ie: Agency, Govt, Portfolio.  Documentation such as but not limited to:
    • Questionnaires
    • Project declarations/bylaws
    • HOA Budgets/Financial Statements/Reserve Studies
    • Engineer reports
    • Open Litigations
    • Project master insurance policies
  • Document findings and provide clear loan-level decisions.
  • Provide restructure recommendations when project does not meet specific loan program guidelines.
  • Work with Risk Management (Mortgage Exception Review) to discuss risk with projects that fall into the non-warrantable category to determine whether any exception can be made.
  • Work with all departments through post-closing to ensure all necessary information is included and accurately represented for loan delivery.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving investor requirements. 
  • Maintain effective communication with all necessary parties involved in a new loan application,
  • Immediately notifies all necessary parties of irregularities relative to standard mortgage guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Work closely with both Internal and External Customers such as grant providers, co-workers, borrowers, Loan Officers, municipalities, contractors, architects, HUD consultants, etc.                                                                            
  •  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required
  • Associates Degree or 4 years equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years prior mortgage processing or underwriting experience.
  • Good PC skills with strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Email Platform and Adobe.
  • Proficient with all Retail Requirements, including all state specifics
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on information provided.
  • Knowledge of Product, Investor and Compliance Requirements.
  • Versatility and flexibility working within an ever changing fast paced mortgage environment.
  • Adapting to new policies and procedures to improve processes and workflow.
  • Ability to function independently within time constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Prioritization of daily workload.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic, reliable and dependable.
Education and Experience Preferred
  • Trained to clear certain conditions as allowed in M&T Policies and Procedures.                  

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $22.61 - $37.67 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
