Position Responsibilities
  • Partners with the Mortgage Finance business partners to provide a technical perspective during solutioning and work planning activities; and to gather technical requirements.
  • Partners with the Enterprise Architecture team by contributing to new solution architectural permits and the mortgage reference architecture design.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert of mortgage warehouse platforms during design, support, maintenance, and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Drives execution of configuration and build activities for features within the mortgage warehouse platform ecosystem; and drives orchestration across a cross-functional team of technology partners, including vendors, to drive a solution to completion.
  • Designs and implements integrations across multiple vendor-hosted solutions leveraging APIs and custom developed applications.
  • Designs operational workflow processes and proposes areas for optimization.
  • Builds strong relationships with internal partners (such as Line of Business Leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, PMO, Reporting and Analytics).
  • Contributes to the mortgage technology capabilities roadmap, product increment planning, and sprint planning by performing feature exploration and technical debt assessments; and by estimating the level of effort and complexity of features and stories.
  • Addresses and executes resolution for planned and unplanned production issues, maintenance, communication, and business support.
  • Creates, delivers, and represents change documentation to change management forums.
  • Designs autonomous monitoring and situational response knowledge base articles for mortgage platforms; and when gaps are identified in monitoring and/or knowledge base articles, initiates a work plan to fill the gap.
  • Proposes improvements to engineering and team operating processes.
  • Contributes to application management, data management, and audit processes, as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant field required (e.g., MIS, CIS, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, finance, accounting, or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in application support or development
    • SQL experience required.
    • Promerit configuration and/or support experience a huge plus.
  • 3+ years’ experience in banking, financial services, investment bank, or other well-regulated industries preferred.
  • Strong desire to continuously grow knowledge of the mortgage and investment banking industries.
  • Fundamental understanding of engineering practices and product or software development lifecycle
  • Ability to obtain information from multiple sources, and synthesize the information into clear, articulate problem statements, status updates, and other effective communications.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with internal partners required.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills preferred.
  • Project management, process management design and/or Agile skills preferred.
  • Ability to gain subject matter expertise on a suite of applications and cross-train team members.
  • Outstanding organizational and effective time management skills required.
  • Superior problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills required.
  • Experience in scoping and participating in large, complex cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to develop and establish positive working relationships across the organization.
