Office located in Englewood, CO near Denver, CO. Mortgage Operations Learning and Development:We are seeking a proactive and highly motivated intern to join our team and contribute to enhancing our Mortgage Banking Program for new employees. The successful candidate will collaborate with both the Mortgage Operations department and Learning & Development team to fist learn about the mortgage banking training program then analyze and suggest improvements.  The intern(s) will work with team members to identify opportunities to improve the training through a variety of different methods:  automation, video training, improved communication, self-training, etc. In addition to core responsibilities, this internship offers a unique opportunity to learn all aspects of mortgage banking.  Interns will participate in cross-training in other departments, interact with executive and senior leaders and explore the financial operations of the business, contributing to both professional growth and the development of future loan processors and consultants.This role offers professional growth in the dynamic field of mortgage finance. Overview of responsibilities:  

  • Gain a deep understanding of mortgage banking and its key functions
  • Identify and propose valuable improvements to the mortgage banking training program
  • Collaborate with L&D and Operations leadership, developing leadership and business skills
  • Cross-train with various financial services departments to build a broad skillset
  • Attend business meetings to gain insights into daily mortgage banking operations
  • Act as a decision-maker in creating and updating training content and course deliverables
  • Provide input on new learning and development options
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas for training enhancements and change management

Projects:  The interns main project is to identify opportunities for improvement in training modules and overall training for new mortgage banking employees.  Interns will work with others in the department to implement changes for improvement. Management Responsibilities

Required Education/Experience 

  • High School diploma GED, or equivalent education required. 
  • Must be at least 18-years of age. 
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States. 
  • Our various PFS Internships are ideal for candidates pursuing a number of degrees including Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Communication, Human Resources, Pre-law, or similar degree. 
  • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application or must have graduated the semester immediately preceding the start of the internship. 
  • Minimum of junior status preferred. 
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at time of application or graduation preferred.

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently across all levels.
  • Strong tech-savvy competency; experience with Excel and Microsoft Teams specifically. 
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Detail-oriented, with a sharp eye for accuracy in both project work and daily tasks.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the capability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Adaptable and self-motivated, demonstrating agility to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bias for action, with a proactive approach and a desire to make a meaningful impact alongside teammates.
  • Strong interest in the homebuilding, real estate, and/or construction industry as a preferred career field.
  • Added plus are students who are involved in extracurricular activities outside of their curriculum responsibilities (i.e., student organizations, leadership roles, student athletes, NAHB student competition, etc.). 

2025 Summer Internship Blueprint: In your 2025 internship role you will work alongside our experienced professionals and mirror that team’s schedule and flexibility models. Please read each role’s description and discuss with your hiring team to best understand the team’s expectations. 

  • Application Dates: November 1st, 2024 – March 14th, 2025 
  • Internship Dates: May 19th, 2025 – August 8th, 2025 (12 weeks) *Schedule may be adjusted based on individual student need. 
  • 40 hours per week; schedule depends on the internship position and its requirements. 
  • Compensation: Pay $22/hour
  • Benefits: Temporary employees are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Plan. 
  • Format: Exact schedule will vary based on intern position and team; interns will mirror the schedule/format of their designated team. 
  • Each intern will have the opportunity to shadow various functions that go into the homebuilding and lending processes. 
  • Internships may include a capstone presentation or final project.
