PURPOSE
Analysis and research of MGIC’s business environment to support product and business strategy; review and analysis of mortgage products, programs, and guidelines available in the market and/or requested by customers; insights to inform solutions we pursue
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Routinely review data/information sources to identify and investigate mortgage industry product and program changes.
• When certain industry changes unfold, define, analyze and communicate the changes to internal stakeholders.
• Create and maintain summary information and market position analyses on MGIC underwriting policies to inform internal stakeholders and uncover opportunities.
• Evaluate and process lender requests for special guidelines or programs, which includes leading the interaction with salespeople, collaborating with other functional areas and customers, and executing related tasks while keeping the customer experience top of mind.
• Help with miscellaneous mortgage industry research projects, impact assessments and business case development, which includes leveraging data.
• Lead or contribute to the development of reports/visualizations, numerical home financing illustrations and presentations for various internal audiences.
• Keep up with mortgage industry trends and MGIC product features, perpetually grow expertise: to aid in answering co-worker questions and contributing to product management discussions.
EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND
• Understands residential mortgage underwriting, mortgage loan product concepts, mortgage instruments and related industry guidelines.
• Possesses an analytical mind and an inclination for problem-solving.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Dedicated to quality: able to sift through details and draw conclusions with consistent accuracy.
