< The Logistics Assistant Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the transportation, warehousing, registration, and import/export operations within Unilever. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless logistics operations that align with Unilever’s strategic goals.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

 

 

Transportation Management

  • Coordinate and oversee all transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Develop and implement efficient routing plans to optimize transportation costs.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.

Warehousing Operations

  • Oversee warehousing activities including inventory management, order fulfillment, and storage optimization
  • Implement best practices for warehousing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain accurate inventory records and minimize discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations & quality standards within the warehouse environment

Import/Export Coordination

  • Facilitate all import/export activities in compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory agencies to resolve any issues related to shipments.
  • Monitor shipment status and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.

Registration Management

  • Ensure proper registration of products as required by local regulations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes affecting logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance with all applicable laws regarding product registration.

Team Leadership

  • Assist in managing a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation.

 

Cost & Savings Projects: Identify areas for process improvement and cost optimization within logistics operations.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

 

Experiences & Qualifications

 

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Logistics /Supply Chain is preferred.
  • Experience Requirement: 4 to 6 years of experience in logistics or customer service roles is essential.

 

Skills

  •  Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess data and make informed decisions regarding logistics processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with stakeholders, including customers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiation techniques to secure favorable terms with suppliers and partners.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
