The most important way Bloomberg Industry Group gets top-tier, industry-leading news in front of the professionals who need it is through newsletters. That’s where you come in.
We're looking for an editor to join our early morning team responsible for ensuring that our newsletter lineup makes its way into inboxes across the tax, legal, government, and business world. You'll start at 5 a.m. to help launch the newsroom's day with timely, actionable, and engaging newsletters that give our subscribers the crucial tools and information they need to stay ahead of the curve. The ideal candidate is a communicative, detail-oriented, problem-solver with sharp news judgement, a penchant for reader service, and a desire to shape conversations across Washington.

What you will do:

  • Plan, pitch, execute, and promote stories that inform and delight our audiences.

  • Seriously, it’s that first thing. But you will also get to coach reporters on how to break more and bigger stories, help us select terrific feature ideas, make sure we meet deadlines, and pitch ideas for videos and podcasts.

You need to have:

  • Seven or more years of experience in journalism.

  • Comfortable with an early morning shift

  • Exceptional curiosity and news judgment to unpack complicated legal and government actions, and then to help reporters make them interesting.

  • Demonstrate excellent editing and writing skills.

  • Be highly collaborative and show the ability to manage change, influence others in the newsroom, and communicate with reporters and editors of various backgrounds and experience levels.

  • Have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with the ability to juggle stories and meet tight newsroom deadlines.

  • Be a self-starter who sets high standards and leads by personal example and can help guide reporters toward becoming stronger journalists.

  • A bachelor’s degree required.

Compensation Range:

$100,000.00-$125,000.00

Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process. Salary determination will be determined based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, demonstrated skills related to the requirements of the role, education, certifications, and geographic location.
