Job Summary
The Mooring Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Rig Manager and OIM for the efficient mooring of installation during its campaign at Bass Strait and Otway Basin. Serves as point of contact between the Mooring Contractor, Transocean, and Rig Consortium Operators in matters of mooring equipment logistics.This role requires excellent coordination, communication, and organizational skills to support the planned mooring operations effectively and continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of mooring logistics.
Job Description
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support mooring logistics operations with the planning of transport of pre-lay mooring equipment to the well sites during the campaign.
- Work closely with the Mooring Contractor and within Transocean to anticipate equipment demands for the planned operations.
- Proactively ensure all required equipment has a valid inspection report and certificate available for mooring operations.
- Verify all required equipment is staged at the dock and properly loaded onto the AHV(s), prior to commencement of mooring operations.
- Ensure all equipment is returned to proper storage and schedule any necessary inspections at the end of each mooring operation.
- Maintain accurate records of mooring operations, incidents, and equipment maintenance, and prepare reports as required.
- Maintain equipment certification records and ensure all equipment in use has appropriate certification and documentation.
- Other duties, as directed by Mooring Contractor, Project Manager, or Transocean Rig Manager.
