Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform pre-flight inspection of his/her assigned area of responsibility to ensure a successful production start-up.
- Complete rounds every hour in production/storage areas, reviewing compliance with all regulatory policies, and ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely fashion
- Communicate observations in real-time with the management team, ensure corrective actions are taken, aid in developing sustainable preventive measures, and periodically follow up to ensure these measures are adequately preventing concerns.
- Assists with audits of the process, GMP’s and food safety as well as customer complaints.
- Accompany the USDA representative as they perform tasks in the plant to address any concerns identified. Any deviations will be documented on appropriate forms.
- Assist in completing SSOP forms and Pre-shipment reviews.
- Coach team members on near-miss GMP violations and report deviations to the management team.
- Assist the management team with other responsibilities as needed.
- Assist management with ensuring the process is operated in accordance with plant and USDA procedures.
- Perform periodic verifications to ensure operational Sanitation is in compliance.
- Assist the production supervisor in ensuring the process is operated in accordance with plant and USDA procedures.
- Assist the production Supervisor in verifying that the associates continuously adhere to the company's GMP policy and procedures.
- Ensure the housekeeping in their assigned area of responsibility is maintained in a manner that meets good housekeeping standards.
- Assist with effective communication or process changes, or deviations
Education and Experience
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED Diploma plus additional specialised training in a food environment, verifying product quality.
- Must have at least 3-5 years of progressive work experience.
