The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced back-end software developer to support a Modeling and Simulation project that uses High-Performance Computing (HPC) at Ft Detrick, Maryland.
Responsibilities:
Develop and run simulations on a High-Performance Computing (HPC) System to forecast Chemical and Radiological hazard areas.
Use modeling and simulation tools to include the Operational Multi-Scale Environment Model with grid Adaptivity (OMEGA).
Employ a Chemical Hazard Area Modeling Program.
Switch the existing schedule and resource management from Torque qsub to Slurm batch.
Support tactical and strategic planning associated with delivery of services and capabilities
Provide oral and written briefs, presentations, and professional reports to Government senior leaders and decision makers
Apply proper security measures to safeguard government IT infrastructure
Develop, update, and maintain documentation
Develop and review detailed or complex technical documents such as techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTPs), concepts of operations (CONOPS), special instructions and engineering plans.
Provide continuity and on-the job training to contractor and government technical support personnel.
Qualifications:
Required:
DoD Secret Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI adjudication.
Be able to complete a Counter-intelligence polygraph
B.A. in Computer Science, Modeling and Simulations or related field, and 5 or more years’ relevant experience
Experience with Python, C Shell, and Slurm
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Unix and HPC experience
Desired:
Experience with Python, C Shell, and Slurm
EM.S. in Computer Science or related field
Experience in full stack development
Security + certification
