Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

[Purpose of the Role]

The Global Mobility Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting Korea inbound immigration and visa processes for foreign engineers and employees.
This role focuses on ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant visa and work permit processing in accordance with Korean immigration laws and internal HR policies.

While the initial scope is heavily centered on Korea inbound immigration operations, the role also collaborates with HR Business Partners, Finance, and external vendors to support broader mobility-related coordination and compliance.
A high level of attention to detail, ownership, and accountability is required to manage sensitive immigration cases and employee documentation.

[Key Responsibilities]

1. Korea Inbound Immigration & Work Permit Management (Primary Focus)

  • Manage end-to-end Korea inbound visa and work permit applications, including new applications, renewals, and cancellations for foreign engineers and employees
  • Collect, review, and coordinate required immigration documentation with employees and internal stakeholders
  • Liaise closely with external immigration vendors and law firms to ensure compliance with Korean immigration regulations
  • Track case progress, deadlines, and risks to ensure on-time entry and work authorization

2. Data & System Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date immigration and mobility-related data in HR systems. (e.g., Envoy)
  • Monitor visa case status and prepare regular status updates and reports.

3. Internal Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers regarding Korea visa and immigration processes
  • Work with HRBP and relevant internal teams to align immigration timelines with business needs
  • Provide clear guidance to employees on visa requirements, documentation, and timelines

4. Policy & Compliance Support

  • Ensure adherence to Korean immigration laws, labor regulations, and internal policies
  • Support updates to internal immigration guidelines and process improvements

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in immigration, visa, or global mobility-related roles
  • Hands-on experience managing Korea inbound visa or work permit cases is strongly preferred

Skills

  • Solid understanding of immigration and visa processes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR or case management systems

Preferred

  • Business-level English communication skills
  • Background in immigration law firms, visa vendors, or in-house immigration support roles
  • Experience coordinating with external vendors or global stakeholders
