Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Plant Fitter to join the team based at West Deeping, Lincolnshire. The role of the Fitter will be to support the existing team in maintaining and repairing Concrete plants and several wash plants around Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and associated plant equipment. So, if you’re not someone who likes to sit back the more proactive you are the more you will get in return. From planned PPM’s to being involved in Planned Maintenance for the sites not one day will be the same.

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and co-ordinate the repair and maintenance of all fixed plant and machinery i.e. carrying out any repairs/maintenance for concrete plant, Quarry processing Plants, conveyor systems and some hydraulic equipment.
- Be able to Weld both Arc & Mig would be an advantage.
- Provide supervision of others and third party’s assisting in the works being carried out.
- Assist the area management team in the programming of scheduled maintenance and repair aligned to production requirements and managed the site defect logs.
- Eliminate preventable plant breakdowns.
- Ensure cost effective and timely ordering and supply of spares and critical equipment.
- Undertake risk assessment and associated paperwork, where required, of the relevant activities to ensure a suitable and effective safe system of work.
- Liaise daily with management and plant operations team to ascertain any repair and maintenance requirement that arise or need specific prioritisation.
- Provide flexibility to undertake emergency repairs where and when these arise.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Completed a recognized mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
- Essential experience working on heavy plant, fixed and/or mobile.
- You must have previous experience as a mechanical fitter in a similar role. You will have a flexible, proactive and ‘hands-on’ approach to work with effective communication, problem solving and IT skills.
